1967 was the Summer of Love in San Francisco’s Haight Ashbury. Henceforth, we’re going to designate 2023 as the Summer of Love for Sangha in Sequim. Really, you might wonder, isn’t that kinda corny? Yep. Absolutely. However, it has the merit of being solid Awareness Practice. How so, you might wonder? Well, it’s quite simple.
Folks practicing awareness, at least in our Sangha, are really, really good people who by and large are not allowed to enjoy the fullness of that goodness because they keep getting pulled back into internal criticism, self-judgment, and self-hate. For the most part these folks see the process, recognize it, understand it, even articulate the details of it and yet still get pulled into egocentric karmic conditioning/self-hate’s murky miasma to suffer—regularly.
What to do? Well, since what we do is what we get, we’re going to turn attention to the LOVE that obliterates suffering. For this short period of time, we will focus exclusively on what we ARE, LOVE, rather than on what we are not, the illusion of a separate self that suffers.
So, on July 28 we will post a group on the Summer of Sangha website that articulates precisely the HOW of that.
It’s not that we haven’t been talking about the critical nature of choosing Unconditional Love, but rather than directing attention away from identification with ego, we will focus on choosing Unconditional Love and staying in Unconditional Love.
