Dear Sangha
As we mentioned in our last communication, we’re collaborating with a facilitator to transition stewardship of the Monastery property. We’ve created a request for proposal (RFP) that is being sent out to potential interested parties.
The Message to Future Stewards in this RFP reads:
A magnificent land and community in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada is seeking new stewards. For the last 34 years, this land has been stewarded by a monastic community that embodies a practice of compassion. A sense of oneness with all has created a space in which all life is revered, honored and protected.
The land, waters, and creatures exude peacefulness and the deep care that has been practiced for decades. The Monks seek to find stewards who will preserve the ethos of living compassion with this land.
At the end of a road, in the deep quiet of rolling hills, mixed forest and meadow, lies a sanctuary, perfect for a like-minded community.
If you have the same orientation to planet, creatures, and people that we do, we invite you to consider the stewardship of 320 virgin acres of pine, oak, meadow, and creek.
This land is wonderful for those seeking to:
— preserve habitat
— practice regenerative organic agriculture
— create a tiny house community interested in a small carbon footprint
— offer sanctuary to those who need nature’s nurture
— showcase practices of land and forest management
— provide education around ecology, permaculture, biomimicry
— cultivate organic gardens to nurture habitats for pollinators
— manage land for carbon capture
If you know someone (person or organization) who shares these values and these goals, please email information@livingcompassion.org. We will send you a copy of this proposal for you to send on.
