Africa Project Update

Theresa tells me that one of the most challenging parts of her job is the daily question from any parent of a child not enrolled in the Living Compassion program, “Can my child be in your program?”  She usually has to explain that she will keep them in mind when the next enrollment opportunity arises.

But she has been expressing great glee (those of you who have met her or heard her speak can imagine that huge smile and voice full of love) that for the months of March, April, May and June, her answer is, “Yes, please give me your name and we will come to your home to meet your child to enroll in the program!”

In each of these months, the team is adding 50 children to the program. The expansion stems from a growing Sangha and a deepening practice. Gratitude wants to give.

Theresa and the team are engaged in an inspiring process of meeting EVERY single family, learning about the child and his/her circumstances, and welcoming the family into the Living Compassion community.  If you haven’t seen it, visit Theresa’s blog where we are posting the individual photos of each new student.

Whether you are participating by reading this newsletter, reading Theresa’s weekly blog updates, contributing to the Africa Vulnerable Children Project, coming on retreat, or any of the other many ways we each give our presence to practice, perhaps you wish to plan a celebration for July 1, 2015,  when the 1,000th child will be enrolled in Living Compassion, Kantolomba.  Well done, team!
