Everything Is the Buddha

As I continue to practice, there’s a deepening realization that the “me” that the conversation in the head goes on about constantly is not me. That the human being is not there, in the conversation.  She is Here.

And with that, the willingness grows to stay out of the conversation and be Here with her. The experience is of losing interest in giving attention to the “me” that the conversation is talking about, and of giving everything over to listening for the Unconditional, to listening for Life’s guidance.

Sometimes, in that listening in, there’s a prompt to pick up a pencil and write a poem. This one is a gratitude poem to the deer who come and visit us at the Monastery.

The deer came to the door
(So close you could see their thick winter coats)
And reminded you
That Life is taking perfect care.
Informing,
Unfolding,
And guiding,
All in Love

Everything indeed is the Buddha…
