We’re in our standard from-dormant-to-vibrant transformation of the Monastery and of us. Hermitages are being opened up, aired out, painted where needed and re-furnished; finishing touches are being put on our recently expanded photovoltaic system in preparation for bringing a freezer (currently living with a neighbor) and a new electric refrigerator online; and the new Peace Garden is receiving exuberant attention to weeds, watering systems, and fledgling flowering plants.
And, if that weren’t enough, I want to tell you about three more things we’re very excited about:
1) We have a new feature on Good News Updates (just before Open Air) on sustainability. Jen and Brian will be discussing current and future projects aimed at making the ZMPC a model of sustainable living for all of Life, “animate and inanimate.” The context Brian laid out for us in the first conversation was, “Living in unconsciousness is fundamentally unsustainable.”
2) On a recent Good News Update we heard from Rochelle, who has just published what I found to be the best children’s book ever, The Puppy’s Soul. If you have kids, or if you were one, please give yourself the gift of this marvelous little treasure. It’s available on Sangha Market plus all the standard outlets.
3) The Keep It Simple website has moved to a new location with a whole new look and feel, just in time for the new book I Don’t Want To. I Don’t Feel Like It: How Resistance Controls Your Life and What to Do about It. It will also be available in all the usual outlets. If you want to give maximum support to practice, bookmark this site and order your copy on April 18. Of course, you can get all the rest of our books and recordings there as well.
Happy Spring!
Gasshō,
Cheri
