There’s that quote by Gary Zukav I’m so fond of: “If 10% of you makes a decision, 90% of the universe gets behind it.”
That’s how we want to live. It’s not a question of figuring out or efforting or doing, we just need to have the intention toward. We just get clear about what we choose.
Getting clear about what we choose is not difficult. We know what the heart desires for ourselves and for all. We want kindness, gratitude, happiness, generosity, a sense of belonging, of being a contribution, of appreciating and being appreciated. True?
It’s not a big scratch your head and ponder sort of issue, is it? How are you with a baby, with a puppy, sitting under a flowering tree in the spring, when you know you’ve done your best, when you are the recipient of an act of kindness, when you see someone you love…? How do you feel then? That feeling is what your heart wants. (If you heard an argument about that, you can know egocentric karmic conditioning/self-hate is reading along!)
Once we get clear about what the heart wants, we get to see what attempts to interfere with that, what resists and wants to stop us from putting our attention on what we choose for our lives.
The intention, the unfolding, and the completion are all “one.” The interference comes from an illusion of separation from Life, from ego.
That interference, that resistance, always shows up as a conversation in conditioned mind. (Remember, conversations might not be in full sentences.)
As we keep attention on what we choose, as we turn away from an ego maintaining- conversation in conditioned mind, we begin to see that we are changing.
Set the intention, stay with the intention, and watch yourself change. Let your “conversation” be one of appreciation, enjoyment, and gratitude, of affirming all the beauty and goodness that is in your life, and watch yourself change.
Is that “watch yourself change” a significant piece of this process? You bet! It’s possibly the most significant piece. Because if you stay in the same old conversation in conditioned mind nothing will ever change. (No matter what changes!)
The only way you’re going to realize you’re changing is through the insights that drop in as as attention is focused on what you choose for your life in thisherenow.
