Many have told us they are homesick for images of familiar scenes at the Monastery; we have included several this month. Here is the big pine tree where you have unloaded your luggage when coming on retreat.
Here is the kitchen where thousands of meals have been mindfully cooked.
This is the Meditation Hut where old-timers will remember meditating before the Monastery buildings were even built!
And here are the beloved hermitages.
The halls are decked with the tiny, vibrant, red berries bursting on all the toyon this time of year.
In practice, we often use the image of being with a scared animal—the patience, care, attention. This sweet, black and white, feral kitty has been with us for over a decade, and it is only in recent months that she will approach for a bit of a cuddle. A gift to all!
