Reflecting back on the years I have been here at Living Compassion in Kantolomba, it puts a smile on my face and joy in my heart to know that yes, transformation is coming to our beloved community. The family here I have is a strong foundation to myself as I wake up each morning heading out to see the beautiful faces of Kantolomba.
Naïve are the little minds that come out to the property for the first time, and then, in a few months, their little heads are filled with the knowledge of English words, numbers and songs that the dedicated teachers impart to them. I often wonder on how amazing it is to fill a little brain and that what you fill will remain in their heads.
Living Compassion has come a long way and we are on the right track with what we are doing here. The entire staff is so willing to be there each day at the property and always ready to learn. For the teachers it is a challenge to be with all the 1000 students. Yet each day is spent happily and with lots of fun as each day is different from the other.
This coming Bridge Walk we are so excited to be together with you. I and my team have lined up a number of programs that we will achieve up to October 3rd. We are going to read as many words as we can, speak and learn English words each day, make sure that our students attend regularly, use the recorders and make sure that our property looks beautiful by teaching the children to pick up and throw trash paper in the bins we have. Above all, we are practicing the kindness that Living Compassion is every day!
Many thanks to all out there who will read my story and again I say really transformation is happening in Kantolomba. English words can be heard at the property as you walk in, which shows that we are almost there and on track.
Love you all,
Theresa.
