Monastery Wall

The wildlife rescue folks tell us this is “pinkie” season. They see a large influx of tiny, baby squirrels just like this love we found on the main path. This shows her settling in at the rescue foster home.

Here she is one month later, weighing in at 40 grams, happily ensconced with her foster brothers and sisters. We’re told they’re released into their true home at about 16 weeks. We shall endeavor to share another photo before she leaves the nest!

And look at this lovely—one of the creatures in this month’s Everything Is the Buddha article—as she slowly makes her way over a recently moved roofing tile.

After many fabulous work days of major clearing out, it is a great pleasure to see all of the good wood, now sorted and cleaned up, stacked and ready to be re-used by the new property stewards.

This one, gorgeous, red tulip returns spring after spring in the Monastery courtyard.

The agribon cloth, carefully wrapped around the clematis in preparation for a 26-degree night, provides a stunning view of the sunset.

Enjoy the wondrous yellow of the forsythia.
