Monastery Wall

This time of year the manzanita trees shed their old bark, in the process exhibiting impossibly vibrant color underneath.

The Monastery has just received its annual fire-safety haircut and looks beautifully cared for.

Do you remember the tiny sweet potato starts from last month’s wall photos? They are now a jungle of glorious leaves -- and these are just the ones that haven’t yet gone out to be planted in the garden!

Meanwhile, inside the garden, the summer squash are arriving.

The lotuses in the pond are in full bloom.

Mariposa lilies, which bless us annually for two weeks, are an elegant workshop in impermanence.
