The raspberries have just received their ‘post-fruiting’ pruning. Raspberry ‘canes’ (the vines on which they grow) produce fruit every other year so the ones that fruited this year are cut to the ground and the canes here are those lovelies that will have their turn next summer. The basil is small, but mighty, as it battles the ever-increasing summer temperatures.
 

While nearly all of the vegetables are struggling to produce their ‘fruit’ in extreme heat, the flowers and foliage are healthy and strong.

She comes to this lily pad or a nearby neighbor just about every afternoon for a nice sunning.
