DESCRIPTION
We have a special New Year’s retreat this year that will last the entire month of January.
New Year’s Eve Workshop
Tuesday, December 31
4.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. Pacific
We gather on New Year’s Eve to honor and celebrate insights and Practice successes, what we’ve learned and what we’ve let go, and be guided in a process of articulating our Practice intentions for the coming year.
New Year’s Eve Sesshin
Tuesday, December 31
9.00 p.m. to Midnight (your time zone)
The Sangha tradition is to meditate into the New Year to indicate our intention to be in the mind of meditation in the year to come. A self-guided sesshin will culminate with a virtual guided meditation with Sangha at midnight in your time zone.
Be the Change You Want to See in the World
January 1 to January 31
We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a person changes their own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards them. This is the divine mystery supreme. A wonderful thing it is and the source of our happiness. We need not wait to see what others do.
--Mahatma Gandhi
How does a focus on inner peace translate into love in action in the world? This retreat is an invitation to answer that question for ourselves. We will each make a commitment to being the change we want to see in the world. With the help of the Guide and Sangha we will bring conscious awareness to confronting and transcending challenges we encounter.
We will already be taking a step to making a change in the world by participating in this retreat. Even with a magical Bridge Walk season, we find ourselves still needing to raise money for the project. Donations for this retreat will fund nutrition and education for the kids in Kantolomba.
The retreat will begin at the New Year’s Eve Workshop on December 31 and will follow the yearlong model with daily assignments processed on morning calls from 9.00 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. Pacific, five days a week.
Registration closes on December 30 at 5:00 p.m. Pacific
